Included with the bills this quarter are the following two reminders:
TOWN-WIDE REVALUATION PROJECT
As required every five years, the Town of Waterville Valley is reviewing all property values in Town and making necessary adjustments over the next three to four months. Workers from the firm the Town uses for assessing services will be visiting properties and reviewing town records from now until mid-July. Property value adjustments will be set, reviewed and approved by the Selectmen and then notices mailed to all property owners. During the month of August the assessors will hold hearings with interested property owners, then review and set final values. We plan to have new property values set and reported to the Department of Revenue Administration by the beginning of September. We will send out additional notices as the work proceeds. If at any time you have questions regarding the revaluation, please feel free to call the Town Office at (603) 236-4730.
TOWN DOG ORDINANCE
At the Town Meeting on March 16th the Town voted to defeat the proposed amendment to the Local Dog Ordinance. We want to remind everyone that this action did not change the existing ordinance which requires everyone to keep their dog under control at all times. You can read an informational flyer prepared by the Public Safety Department at this internet address https://www.watervillevalley.org/police-department/pages/forms-documents on the Town website. If you have any issues with dogs around town, please contact the Department of Public Safety at ph. (603) 236-4732 when the incident occurs. This is the only way that they can respond in a timely manner and address your concerns. Working together, we can ensure a friendly and safe environment in which everyone can enjoy their pets and everything the Valley has to offer.
We will finalize the project schedule for the revaluation on April 20 and then will get right to work. We will continue to update you on the progress of the work through this blog and on the Town website.
The Dog Ordinance reminder is just another attempt to make sure that people are aware that the rules did not change on control of dogs around town.
As always, if you have any questions about the reval or the dog ordinance, give us a call at Town Hall (603) 236-4730.
